Flabbergasted was I. . . .
Dumbfounded I was when I thumbed through the August issue of
Cooking Light to find both cats and
dogs! Who would have believed it!
Imagine my surprise to find, on page 71, a dog tongue
beneath a dog nose and, barely seen above, two eyes - a seeming Pug advertising Cozio. Page 83 is
a whole-page ad for the dog kibble, dish [sic] by Rachel Ray’s Nutrish line.
StarKist Tuna Creations is featured on one page – do cartoon fish – tunas –
count? The next page is all about Iams dog food.
Seems like a pretty doggy issue. Until I saw Purina ProPlan
taking up more than an entire page and, finally, “Love means never having to
say ‘leftovers.’” Yup, a beautiful gray cat selling Sheba cat food.
Dogs have the last say with more than a page reserved for
DentaStix.
And the final score is, for this week: Dogs 5, Cats 1, Fish 1.
Oh, and a long article on bees and honey.
